Called away on business? Attending a conference? Family obligations?

There's no need to cancel your class. The POWER Peer Educators are pleased to once again offer the “Don't Cancel That Class” program. POWER Peer Educators can cover your class by facilitating a health promotion workshop for your students in your absence.

Under direction of the Health Promotion & Education Department and Health & Wellness Services, POWER Peer Educators are trained to provide primary prevention education workshops. The goal of the POWER Peer Education program is to promote healthy living and foster academic success among CSUMB students.

Workshop topics available for students include:

  • alcohol education
  • suicide prevention
  • sexual assault prevention

Workshops covering other health-related topics can also be arranged, depending on the needs of the instructor and/or the students. The POWER Peer Education team is happy to work with you to create a presentation focusing on a new prevention and education area.

Even if you don't need to cancel a class, you are always encouraged to request any of these presentations for your classes throughout the year.

For additional information about Health Promotion and Education or to schedule a workshop, please contact Gary Rodriguez, Health Promotion and Prevention Specialist, at 831-582-4437. We kindly ask that all workshop requests be submitted at least two-weeks prior to the anticipated date.
